In Search of the Creator through the Eyes of the Craftsmen
The Review of Religions is once again collaborating with Razwan Baig, one of the largest private collectors of Islamic art in the UK and renowned calligrapher, to bring to you a special exhibition at Jalsa Salana UK 2019, demonstrating the beauty of Islamic art through his calligraphy. We are delighted to announce the world-famous and award-winning Muslim sculptor, Adam Williamson, will be creating a unique piece of Islamic art during the three days of this year's Jalsa Salana. Adam has been commissioned in the past by HRH Prince Charles, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Kew Gardens and Westminster Abbey. Alongside Adam Williamson, Razwan Baig – founder of the Al-Qalam Project – will once again be showcasing some of his finest collection of Islamic artefacts and hosting a series of calligraphy workshops. This exhibition will explore how Muslim craftsmen such as sculptors, calligraphers and artists shaped their works to reflect the beauty of God’s creation. Their purpose was to express their love for the Creator and inspire others towards faith, using art as their medium. From mosques that became architectural wonders to intricate miniature copies of the Qur’an, Muslim artisans found unique and novel ways to evoke the remembrance of the Almighty. |
Jesus in India
Did Jesus (as) survive the crucifixion? This brand new exhibition by The Review of Religions will build upon the pioneering research published over 100 years ago by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) in his ground-breaking treatise, Jesus in India. The exhibition will present fascinating evidence from both medical and historical sources to prove that Jesus (as) survived the crucifixion and will also explore the route taken by Jesus (as) as he travelled east to India in search of the Lost Tribes of Israel. Experts from across different fields of study will present their research to unravel this incredible story of Jesus (as). |
The Turin Shroud
The popular Shroud of Turin exhibition returns to Jalsa for its fifth consecutive year, along with some of the world’s leading experts on the cloth, believed by many to be the actual burial cloth of Jesus Christ (as). Among other guests this year we welcome for the first time Professor Peter Wadhams, a member of the official Scientific Commission on the Shroud in Turin. The 2019 exhibition will have a special focus on the image on the Shroud, the most unique and enigmatic of all its features. Join as at the exhibition and explore what we know about the image, the popular theories for how it formed, and why to this date no one has been able to replicate all of the characteristics it bears. |
The Al-Qalam Project:
The exhibition will feature the ever-popular Al-Qalam project founded by Razwan Baig. The project aims to produce a unique copy of the Holy Qur'an: one in which each verse has been penned by a different writer, thereby celebrating the fact that many diverse people can unify behind the teachings of this one book. |
